Our Assisted Living Center
Meadows on Sycamore is a 123-bed assisted living center located in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood in eastern Sioux Falls. We have a wide variety of apartments with several floor plans and room layouts available, including double rooms, private rooms and private apartments at our Sioux Falls retirement community.
We accept private and Medicaid residents.
The Team
Tracey Hughes | Administrator, MBA
Tracey has over 22 years of health care experience 18 of which has been in long term care. Tracey believes that continually growing and improving better prepares you for the opportunities that each day in health care provides each of us. Tracey believes volunteering is paramount to thriving communities. She and her family volunteer a lot of their time with youth in the Sioux Empire. Tracey has enjoyed sharing 22 wonderful years with her husband (Tim). They have three children together (one daughter and two sons). In their free time they enjoy supporting their children in their passions, while pushing them to be positive role models to others. Tracey also enjoys capturing memories in sports photography.
Mary Bicek | RN
Work Experience & Health Care Experience:
- 2002: Worked in John Morrell as the Business Agent for the Union.
- 2007: Began as a CNA/Med Aide at Prince of Peace.
- 2011: Began working as a Charge nurse at Bethany Home in Brandon.
- 2015: Began working at VA as a charge nurse at the rehab unit.
- 2017: Started working at Sanford GI as a primary nurse.
- 2019: Began work with most amazing people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with.
The reason I love being a nurse is because it is so rewarding to make a difference in someone’s life. It is beautiful to be able to look into a patience eyes and see the window to their soul- to know that a caring touch or word can make a difference in their lives. And to me being able to see that because of something I did to care for that person and/or family changed the way they feel, I count that as a blessing! And I’m still counting my blessings every day, and guess what? I’m getting paid for that. I thank God every day for this opportunity I have been given.
I am divorced, however, I have 3 beautiful children: Joshua-14, Bella-9, Ella-5. My favorite pastime is hanging out with my kiddos.
Krystal Moen | Business Office Manager
Krystal has been with Meadows since Feb 2015. She grew up on a farm in Northwest Iowa then attended Augustana College. She spent 9 years teaching Special Education in the Sioux Falls community. Krystal then made a career change and became a Finance Manager in the auto industry for about 16 years. She then was given this opportunity at Meadows to truly do something she is passionate about, which is helping others. Krystal is married and has one son and granddaughter. Krystal enjoys spending time with her family and making people smile.
Stephanie Broberg | Dietary Manager
Work Experience: Other than summer jobs and babysitting when I was a teenager all of my work experience is in health care.
I started in the health care industry in 2001 and fell in love with the environment. The residents you care for as well as the coworkers you work with become a part of your world. It's unique, chaotic and so rewarding. I have worked in three different facilities over the last 19 years. My experience includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, Full care nursing, and Alzheimer’s units. I have working experience in all areas of the dietary department. I have done dishes, bussed tables, served large parties, cooked, and now managed kitchen operations. I value this experience as it gives me an understanding and appreciation for the different roles in the dietary department.
People are my passion. I am a natural nurturer and care deeply about everyone’s quality of life. A constant goal of mine is to leave people feeling better than when I came. We all need human connection, humor, peace, understanding, empathy, and sometimes cookies to make life feel full and vibrant.
I am married to a wonderful man and we are blessed to have two daughters, one son, two dogs and a cat. I enjoy cooking, spending time with my family, watching the various games and concerts my kids are in, crafts, puzzles, movies, and watching my kids grow up.
Gustavo Peralta | Maintenance Manager
Previous Work Experience: Foreman for a construction company, flipped houses.
Healthcare Experience: This is my first time working in health care here at MOS. Every day is different, I like it here.
My Passion: Riding motorcycle, especially on the weekends. I feel free when riding. I have 3 motorcycles.
I have 2 children. My son is in Tennessee, and my daughter in Argentina with 1 grandson.
